Year Book and Directory, Zion Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, S. Dak., 1927. This is Zion Lutheran Church’s first effort at a Directory and Year Book, and we feel it will fill a real need and be a source of interesting and useful information both to present and prospective members.
The list in the back of the book contains the names and addresses of confirmed and communicant members of the Church. The list is complete up to the time this booklet went to press, but as there is a constant coming and going in a city like Sioux Falls and as people are constantly changing addresses the list may not always serve its purpose.
Many hours were spent in compiling this list and obtaining the historical data. There are wide gaps of many years existing in the historical records covering the 38 years since the Congregation was founded. These gaps had to be bridged as best they could by consulting the existing minutes on business proceedings, personal record books, old synodical reports; and inquiring among pioneer members of the congregation. However we feel that we have been fairly successful in presenting an accurate history to date. May this little booklet then go forth and do its bit for the furtherance of the Lord’s kingdom here on earth.
