The distinguishing signal of the Club shall be a pointed burgee with a white field, one and one-third Inches in length for each foot of sailing measurement of the yacht, in width at the luff being two-thirds of its length, the device being a red pointed star, of such size as may be inscribed in a circle of a diameter equal to one-third the length of the luff; the centre of the star to be one-fourth the distance from luff to point.
No guns should be fired on setting or hauling down the colors except by the yacht giving the time; nor between sunset and colors, nor on Sunday. If a yacht does not carry a gun, or if the gun cannot be discharged, the ensign should be dipped once in making or answering a salute, except in passing at sea, when it should be dipped three times.
