Report of the Marshal of the District of Columbia in Answer To A resolution of the Senate of the 4th, instant, in relation to persons confined in the Washington county jail, and the causes of their confinement, &c., December 9, 1861.
In compliance with a resolution passed by the honorable Senate on the 4th instant, I have the honor to submit, through you, to the Senate the accompanying report of all persons now confined in the jail of Washington county, in the District of Columbia, with the causes of their commitment, the names of the magistrates by whom committed, the dates of their commitment, and the names of the persons who made the first arrest, in each particular case, to the fifth of December, A. D. 1861.
