Catalogue of the Officers and Students of Temple Grove Institute, Saratoga Springs, N. Y., 1860. [Title page missing]
Standing on an eminence just back of the Springs, it commands a view of the whole town and its surroundings. The building fronts on Circular street, and is enclosed in a beautiful grove of native growth, which was formerly known as Temple Hill, whose classic ground was associated with the names of some of the most celebrated men of our country.
The young ladies are required to attend church twice on the Sabbath, at such places as parents may designate. When no choice is indicated they attend with the Principal. In all weather not suitable for walking they are carried to and from church free of charge. No visiting allowed on the Sabbath.
The first term of the coming year will commence on Wednesday, the 12th day of September, and close on Tuesday, the 29th day of January. The second term will commence on the 30th day of January, and continue twenty weeks. This arrangement allows the pupils protracted rest during the warm weather, and throws the burden of study within those months when the physical system is in the best possible condition to sustain it.
